1. KEEP A LOOK OUT FOR WILD BIRDS Dr. Martin Gilbert is a Wildlife Veterinarian and Associate Director for Asia. He has just returned from Mongolia, following completion of the 2009 field season. As a continuation of previous years he has devoted considerable efforts to the capture and marking of swans and geese, which in 2009 has numbered over 470 birds (with 21 recaptures from previous years). Birds are now migrating south, and he is seeking your help in publicizing the work among observers in India, in order to increase the yield of data that we could potentially receive on these birds. Also, as with previous years, every observer who provides information will receive a response, providing data collected during capture (including location and individual details) as well as any prior resightings on their birds. Information will also be passed onto the Mongolian Academy of Sciences for their records.
